For years, stablecoins have been dominated by U.S. dollar products built largely outside traditional financial frameworks. Europe is now taking a different path. With MiCA now fully in force, stablecoins are fully regulated. Issuance, reserves, governance, and supervision must be defined up front, not retrofitted later. That shift raises a more practical question for institutions: what does a “regulated stablecoin” actually look like in use, and where does it make sense in real financial workflows?
In this episode, we’re pleased to welcome Rupert Rothenhauser, Chief Commercial Officer at AllUnity, a company building a European stablecoin strategy that includes Swiss-franc and euro-denominated stablecoins designed for institutional use.
Together they explore:
- How MiCA is shaping the design, governance, and adoption of European stablecoins
- Why euro and CHF stablecoins matter in a market still dominated by U.S. dollar products
- Where stablecoins could move beyond trading into payments, treasury, and core financial infrastructure
